Thursday, July 5th, 2018:
Today is the second to last day, and most of the work consisted of preparing the VSKs and VSSs setup for the shoot that will happen tomorrow. Troy and I got the character to work in stream mode into Unreal with Lee and Reagan, to make sure that the orientations and movements were correct. Obviously the test data with fingers wouldn't stream because they didn't want that data, but otherwise the setup looked good.
Then Troy and I were with Alastair on stage doing a virtual cam live-stream Skype session with one of our other clients that wanted to know what a piece in the game would look like with the virtual cam. So we did test shots and recordings of that to hand off to them, and waited for feedback on what to change.
With this we had our virtual cam streaming the motion builder video to the client, while Alastair was skyping with him to receive instructions on where to walk with the camera mount on. It was quite a technological setup that was interesting to watch and learn about because of all of the video, audio, recording, streaming, and communication needed to get something like this functioning.
