Wednesday, June 27th, 2018:
Today, we continued to work on the dog skeleton. I tediously finished building the skeleton of it (all I had left to do was the paw areas of them), and from there we moved on to having to do marker placement. Here is some dog anatomy reference, that I used in order to potentially discover where I might want to start placing the markers.
This was work that took a long time to do (creating labeling bones or markers, renaming them to have the right naming conventions, making sure that their DOFs were correct based on hierarchy, parenting the markers to the dog character (not the reference or hip root), and then constraining them to the proper bones). But, in the process, I learned a lot. I have 1. never built a skeleton system and made my own markers before in Shogun (or even Blade) and 2. never did it on a human OR now even a quadruped!
